Project Information

High School Turf Package
LD Bell and Trinity High Schools will receive synthetic turf on their campus practice fields. The new turf will have markings for both football and soccer. At both high schools, a new pole vault will be located in the north “D” area of the field, and a new long jump will be located near the track area. Alternate bids for both campuses will include resurfacing the track and replacing the fence.

High School Renovations
With the addition of new activity centers at both LD Bell and Trinity High Schools, several locker rooms will be relocated from the existing high school into the new facilities, creating unoccupied space. The vacated athletic/locker room space will be repurposed and renovated to increase locker rooms, as needed. This includes renovating locker rooms (with new or refurbished lockers), providing meeting room space and offices for coaches. Additional athletic areas will be updated with new paint, flooring and ceilings, as needed.

New Activity Centers
The new activity centers, one at each LD Bell and Trinity High Schools, will include a 60-yard turf field with an end zone, stretching the full width of a football field, including an out-of-bounds area nearly around the entire perimeter. The artificial turf markings will not only have the standard football yard line and hash markings, but will also incorporate additional markings for baseball and softball for a more versatile use of the space. Cross ventilation of air movement will be achieved with a series of fans and exhaust units on opposite ends of the building, designed to circulate air across the playing surface. Additional air movement will be realized via large overhead doors designed on the exterior walls opposite each other.

Locker rooms for football and Spring sports will be included in the new facilities. There will also be a trainer’s area, team film room, a mat room and several individual storage rooms to serve each team sport. Offices for each sport will also be designed into the respective areas. All locker rooms will be supported by laundry rooms, custodial closets and technology rooms that will feed data cabling to specific areas of the building.

These state-of-the-art facilities will be constructed of durable finishes and the activity field will be surrounded by 6-foot wall pads for safety. Protective netting will also surround the inside of this area for additional protection from various balls being thrown and kicked. High bay, energy efficient fluorescent light fixtures will be included and will contain protective covers for additional safety. Additionally, a sound system will be featured along with play clocks.
