On March 8, 2011, the HEB ISD Board of Trustees unanimously called a bond election for $136,495,000 to be voted on May 14, 2011.

The bond will address:

  • aging and inefficient roofing, HVAC systems and technology infrastructure.
  • new technology for students and teachers.
  • overcrowding at the current Career & Technology Center and high school athletic and fine arts facilities.
  • relocating the district’s current Auxiliary Services and Career & Technology Center facilities due to the expansion of Airport Freeway (183) over the next five years.

This website has been created to inform the HEB ISD community about what is proposed in the bond election. On this website, you will find proposed project information, tax rate information, voting information, a list of frequently asked questions and a place to submit your bond-related question to the district. Bond presentations will be scheduled throughout the community as well. Please visit the Calendar link on the left for more details.

Early Voting begins May 2 and lasts until May 10. There will be several opportunities to vote on HEB ISD campuses during this time. Election Day is Saturday, May 14.

A bond election will affect our entire community; citizen understanding and participation are invaluable to the process and outcome. Our goal is to ensure that our community is kept informed about all aspects of the bond referendum so that voters can make an informed voting choice.
